My little Muffin Man was in for some fun today. Both his Daddy and I were off to work before he even woke up. Grandma May was here at 6:30am and ready for the little guy to wake up. Just after 8am when he was still asleep Grandma decided it was a good time to get him. She couldn't get the bedroom door open. Declan was locked inside his room. HOW? He doesn't even sit up in his crib let alone hop out and work the locking mechanism on his door handle. We didn't even know that this door could lock as we've never tried. Somehow locked was set and his door shut tight. Grandma had to make an emergency call to Daddy to find out what to do to get to Declan (who was still asleep this entire time). Using a screwdriver Super Grandma had to pop the lock to open the door. Wow...lucky little guy. Now the day could start.
Declan got to hang out with Grandma May, Aunt Marissa and his cousin Alex again today. The adventure included an outing to Square One Shopping Centre. Declan got to ride in a mall kid cart for the first time. He's cool. Working the steering wheel like he owns it.
From what we heard he's also a big fan of the Disney Store. Came home with a Phineus...somebody gets spoiled.
Daddy says that he was told Declan was good all day but then right after our visitors left Declan started getting fussy. Daddy got him to go down for a short 1/2 hour nap after which Declan woke up crying. Not much later I returned from work to a crying little man who looked like he was in discomfort. Daddy had just given Declan some Tylenol. It hadn't set in just yet. After a quick look inside his mouth we could see that the teeth on either side of his two top front teeth are breaking through the gums. Poor muffin was in some pain. Tried a little baby orajel and then gave him some cold fruit puree for dinner. He was his old self again. So good in fact he nibbled through a pile of finger food for the next 1/2 hour while we ate our dinners. Then it was PJs, bedtime bottle, a half hour of playtime which had him late by that 1/2 hour to bed (Mommy missed him) and then right to slumberland. Can't wait to see what the teeth look like in the morning.
