Christmas is Coming

So happy to have today off so I could spend it with my muffin man.  He slept in to 8am and woke all happy as usual.  Dirty little kid was way overdue for a bath so it was first priority after breakfast. Morning bottle, cereal, some play, bathtime complete with a lot of splashing, more bottle and then Declan was down for a nice half hour nap on our bed.

Not long after he got up we headed out to Oakville Place to tackle some of the Christmas shopping that is left.  Mister social butterfly was smiling at all passerbys when he was supposed to be eating his lunch.  Such a flirt, he was a good little guy while we were at the mall but it was a short visit.  I had forgotten that there was very little at Oakville Place so we were rather quickly on our way after his lunch.  Off to visit Daddy at work.  We snuck in for a quick hello with Daddy and then Declan and I were in line (at Chapters) getting his new stocking.  As I was holding him he was looking over my shoulder and smiling at the lady in line behind us.  He held up his right hand and pointed his index finger her way.  His finger was met by her outstretched index finger.  THIS is Declan's new thing. He likes to point at people and smiles when they reach to him and touch his finger.

So after Chapters we gave up on shopping and decided to head over to see Gramma and Puppa.  Declan got in a short nap in the car on the way over for a nice impromtu visit. There were so many Christmas things for Declan to see.  We got the reindeer antlers on him and then a Santa hat.  Antlers....good.....Santa hat....seemed almost tramatic.  Silly muffin.  It seems like his teeth are still giving him a hard time and he gets cranky kind of easy.  We headed home to make sure Declan would get in at a good time for dinner.  He got a good 30 minute nap in on the drive home and only woke up when Daddy came out to the car to wake him up.

In the evening just a 1/2 hour before bedtime Declan was sitting with me and I picked up his little red wooden car and started driving it along my leg.  It rolled off and that caused Declan to burst out laughing really hard.  He is the cutest.  I continued to do this over and over and he kept busting out with these enormous laughs.  Tired him out and he was off to bed for his normal 8pm.  Fun day even with the cranky and looking forward to tomorrow since I don't work again and we have the entire day together.

Oh and how did I almost forget...a monkey hat arrived in the mail today from Grandma May...the cutest!!
