Sweet Taters and a Playdate

My little man slept until 7:30am this morning after going to bed by 8:30pm the night before.  He had his morning bottle and went right back to bed until 9:30am - love it.

For his breakfast/lunch today my man tried sweet potato.  He did not like it.

Now this kid just has to eat vegetables so he's not getting off the hook with this one.  I still had him eat 1oz and he'll be eating sweet potato again for the next three days.  Too bad Declan.  Then for being a good little man we'll try pear next.

Now it was extremely hot out today.  It was over 40 degrees outside once you factor in the humidity and because of this I simply can not take little Declan outside.  It is difficult to breath outside and I'm certain this weather just isn't good for wee babies.  Instead Declan had a playdate inside.  Mommy's friend Hayley and her little guy - Declan's friend Owen came over for a couple hours to hang out.
The boys stretched out on the floor with some toys.  Now Owen is one month younger than Declan but Owen is physically an overachiever.  Owen is already rolling over belly to back and back to belly.  He actually prefers to be on his tummy and he will already stand up with some support from his Mommy.  Declan is still just not interested in putting weight on his legs unless it is minimal and in his excersaucer.  When I put Declan down on his tummy he rolls over right away to his back and that is where he stays.  He isn't interested in tummy time at all.  He was curious about Owen though and he was reaching for him.  Held his hand, touched his face and even pinched his nose.  Then Owen got too close for comfort and Declan cried a short little cry.  Silly muffin.  Got to toughen this one up a bit.  Overall though it wasn't too bad of a playdate for a 4 month and 5 month old.  It will be sweet to see them play together when they are close to a year old.

Well the day wore the man out and Declan fell asleep on Mommy's lap at 7:50pm.  Put to bed at 8:05pm and he is still out.  We'll see if he makes it through the entire night again.  I am so thankful that Declan is such a good sleeper.
