Halloween Traditions in the Making

When I went into Declan's room this morning he was sitting up in bed with a big smile. He remembered that I was home with him today. Then he asked "Daddy in the bed?" 

"No Declan. Daddy is at work."

"Daddy in the car. Daddy get groceries?"

"He's at work Buddy but you'll get lots of time with Daddy later."

So we had a sweet morning just the two of us before heading out to go visit Poppa. I told Declan it was Poppa's Birthday. He was excited and looking forward to cake. (Which there was none-we visited late morning and left just after 1:30pm. Was not cake time.) he had picked out the gift bag for Poppa's gift so it was a "Bobot" (transformer) bag. Poppa was kind enough to let Declan keep the bag. He used it to practice "trick or treat" with Poppa and he got a little bag of chips!

When we got home it was time for Declan's nap but as soon as he got up we started with some Halloween activities.

Daddy carved our pumpkin while Declan watched and asked questions. He had so much energy and excitement he couldn't keep still in one spot for very long.

While Daddy worked on the pumpkin I worked on Declan's "Bobot" costume. He was very cooperate and let me try the box on over his head, check armholes and the length of the arms. I'm so pleased that he is so into Halloween. Friday is going to be so much fun!
