Later in the morning when Daddy was wearing a ball cap with the number 9 on it Declan reached up and took it off his head. He looked at Daddy and said "Nine". Then he turned the hat upside down and said "six". Then back and forth saying "Nine. Six. Nine. Six." Pretty observant.
Late afternoon, before dinner Declan and I played with water balloons in the backyard. He likes throwing two at a time and by throw I mean drop hard to the ground, not really throw. In fact he tried a couple times to actually throw the balloon and he couldn't remember to let go so he just hung on to it. Then threw it to the ground. For fun (since I have a little evil playful side) I threw a couple water balloons at Declan's feet behind him or beside him so he'd get splashed. When that little monkey must have a guardian angel because every single one, every one and I'm talking about 10 didn't break but simply rolled away from him and then broke. These things break when you drop them lightly to the ground and here I toss at his feet and nothing. Seriously. Kid is so lucky.
And loved.
Lots.
