Next Alexis arrived. Caleb hung out near us while Kelly and I chatted with Alexis's mom. Then we hear laughter and realize Declan and Alexis are gone. They were in the kitchen. We'd hear full belly giggles, then silence followed by more giggles, more silence, more giggles. Kelly tells us those two always take off into the kitchen together. She decided to sneak up and peak in on them. She watches as the two kids make their toys; Declan's monkey and Alexis's purple horse kiss. Then Declan stomps his feet in excitement and Alexis kicks her one leg and the two giggle...and repeat. Just makes me smile so much that my kid finds such happiness in love (even if it's just plush animal love).
Kelly says the rest of his day was great.
I got him from work to Declan having just finished his dinner. He tilts his head and leans into me when I come close. I really love the warm welcome. Once he was out of his high chair he only wanted me (poor Daddy, he tried but today I'm favorite) and what he wanted was to hold my hands...for about an hour so he could practice walking and...yes get this...running. He can't walk without holding my hand but somehow he thinks he can run. Actually, he really can. He was squealing in a high pitch tone in excitement each time he booked it. Then a fun song came on and we told Declan to dance. He was bouncing his bottom super fast up and down. Daddy had the rear side view and couldn't stop laughing. Declan was really given' her.
I just love hangig out with our kid. He's the coolest.
