Today Declan met Chelsey Shortt for the very first time. Born December 13th she is 8 weeks older than Declan and is the daughter of my good friend Daniella. They laid together on Declan's activity mat. Chelsey grabbed at Declan's ear and for a brief moment they held hands - all unintentionally of course...they are just little. Declan mostly slept but was a very content little guy overall.
During Declan's 9pm bottle he was a crazy little bundle of happiness. He had a huge grin behind his bottle staring at me. When he wasn't drinking he had the widest open mouth smile and wouldn't stop. I was smiling back and laughing which resulted in Declan's grin getting bigger, as if that were even possible. I feel really fortunate to have such an amazing little boy. I can't believe how fortunate Tyler and I are that we have him. I am amazed at the odds, should we have waited even a day longer to start trying to conceive we might have lost the opportunity to have this one special little boy in our lives.
